Corrected time against metered time, on a log scale. The dashed diagonal is the reciprocity law without failure, and the dot is your exposure.

Ilford gives a Schwarzschild exponent P for each film: the corrected time is the metered time raised to P, and below one second no correction is needed. Kodak gives tables at 1, 10 and 100 s, interpolated here on a log scale; above 100 s the value is an extrapolation. Fujifilm states for Acros II that no correction is needed below 120 s, and half a stop between 120 and 1000 s.

If you change the aperture after metering, the difference is added in stops before the reciprocity correction: metering at f/4 and shooting at f/11 is three stops more. Apertures are also calculated with their exact value, the square root of two raised to the number of stops.

Shutter speeds are calculated with their exact value in powers of two, which is what the meter and the shutter use: 1/30 is 1/32 and 30 s is 32 s. The difference from the marked value is less than a tenth of a stop, smaller than the tolerance of any shutter. For Acros II the Fujifilm rule is applied as it stands, with its jump at 120 s: 119 s metered stay at 119 s and 121 s become 171 s. Near the threshold the page suggests the longer value, because with a negative half a stop too much is harmless and half a stop too little loses shadows.

The colour filter factors are the usual ones and change with the film and the light. For very long exposures the manufacturers recommend testing and, since contrast increases, shortening development somewhat.
